Dioscorea villosa is a variety of tuberous vines commonly known as Wild Yam. The bulb and roots of wild yams contain a chemical called diosgenin, an active ingredient that is remarkably similar to progesterone and to a lesser degree DHEA, which are the two main hormones produced from pregnenolone. Topical use of non-prescription Dioscorea Cream is a natural way of promoting progesterone in the body, and contributing to hormonal balance. Dioscorea Cream is particularly recommended during menopause to alleviate symptoms of hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, anxiety, mood swings, depression, brain fog and headache.

Clinical Pearls:
"This safe, non-prescription cream is a real hit with our female patients, especially those in peri-menopause and menopause. It provides raw materials for your body to make its own progesterone which is typically somewhat deficient in most women in this stage of life. In women who can produce progesterone it works remarkably well. It gets results because we can barely keep enough on the shelf!" - David W Sloan, PhD, MH, DNM, NNCP, RNT, Clinic Director - Sloan Natural Health Center.
Consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or nursing. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare practitioner.
