Maintaining Proper Bowel Movements

Being a victim of irregular bowel movements can lead to many physically irritating and harmful consequences. What’s regular is not standard in every case and varies from person to person. The window of regular bowel movements ranges from up to three times a day to as little as three times a week. The main thing is that you’re remaining consistent in your bowel movements, otherwise, it could point to some internal issue that should be checked out by a doctor.

Just as important as the frequency in which your bowel movements occur, is the form of them. Ones that consist of loosely formed stool to the point of diarrhea, as well as stool that is too firm to the point of constipation or painful bowel movements,  are both causes for concern. If either of these occurs for more than 3 bowel movements, then you might want to seek some medical attention to diagnose the issue causing this irregularity.

Causes of Bowel Issues

There are many potential reasons that your bowel movements can become irregular and in need of medical intervention. One of the main reasons is a lack of fibre in your diet. Fibre is an important element in promoting digestive health and can be commonly found in beans, fresh fruit, vegetables, and whole grains. Getting anything less than 25-30 grams of fibre a day can lead to bowel issues arising.

Health Aids

There are several health aids you can purchase to help ensure that your bowel movements always remain healthy and pain-free. One of these is Floralax, which is a natural laxative with a lubricating feature. It helps to relieve stomach pain and regulate bowel movements through the process of allowing the dissolution of intestinal residue and the prevention of intestinal putrefaction.

Another option is a nice loose leaf natural herb tea called Laxative Tea. Combining both doctor-recommended laxatives and traditional Native American ingredients, this powerful beverage helps to relieve digestive issues as well as treat many liver and gallbladder issues.

A nice versatile option is the delicious banana flavoured Lifiber. This powdered drink mix can be dissolved in any liquid and provides more than enough fibre to help maintain a consistent level of bowel movements.

If the Laxative Tea didn’t catch your attention then Nature’s Tea definitely should. This herbal digestive aid is great for providing gastrointestinal support as well as reducing levels of bloating.
